lyrics
These are my origins of life poured into a mic. Long before I was born puts the meaning in this that I write. My grandfather as a bachelor was a Jewish man after a dream who moved from Austria to Canada. This was in the twenties, post first World War, after he saw what he could not watch anymore. The rest of the KLIFFER family remained in Austria, to carry on their Jewish ancestry but sad to see arose a hatred for their kind, based upon religion in the nature of the time, An era of inherited hatred aiming to sever a people who together faced separation forever. This is what the oppressor wanted accomplished, a holocaust process, grandfather dodged it, and I cant even imagine the agony felt, from overseas how could he help? all by himself..without a farewell my family fought and fell along with tears down cheeks from eyes that swelled, but he couldn’t sit through he helped rescue by providing refuge to few who survived trying to get through the animosity of that societies philosophy which people never thought would be more than just a prophecy, but there was one Kliffer left on this earth, who inhaled the breath of life and took the role of the first.
For what it’s worth, I will remember who you were,
For what it’s worth, I believe you were a savior
For what it’s worth, I’ll never forget the pain
For what it’s worth, I will carry on the family name
After it all passed by, all he could do was ask why, but there was no answer to that cry, with no parents left, cousins, brothers or sisters, nephews or nieces, no relations no Kliffers just him and his wife, together skin tight but they couldn't have children ‘cause they had passed mid life he knew he couldn't be the last the tree must grow taller so in 1947 they adopted my father a boy that would grow into a man who would offer a second chance for the family to make it farther. November 22nd, 1963 a date that will always be remembered in history my father got sent home from school that day, due to the most famous assassination known to date. You all know it as the death of JFK, my father knows it as the day his dad passed away at 16 years of age would the rage fade when he wasn’t told but they knew his dad was dying for days believe that what I tell you is the truth no mistake, he dropped school in grade 9, became a self made respectable man on his own with no help, like my grandfather all by himself compared to them a breeze is the life that I’ve been walking through, I only wish that I could be as strong as you
